i'm a girl

this debutant thing made the whole family grrazy..! my mom just bought a "brown" skirt with some shining-shimmering splendid inside. my sister (this was a sunday incident) spent 2000 pesos for clothes (she bought me a sailor uniform), shoes, skirts and caps for us. my other sister wore a "romantic sweater" (you know the one like a turtle neck with alot of ruffles) and heels on a hot lazy sunday. my dad's been so busy with the songs thing. i took my mom's make-up kit and started polishing my face. make-up-over-make-up-over-make-up and i was scary. i was looking for the right mix of make-up so after one mixture, i wash my face with a cleanser and mix another mixture. but, believe it or not, i look good on make-up. but i'm a bad make-up artist. firstly, my face looked brutally red. secondly, my face looked brutally white. and then lastly, i don't have a face anymore.

as show-off as it may get, i got the good set of teeth. i snagged a lip gloss and a lip shimmer from my mom (and it tasted orange) and i used it today. here's my lip:

the make-up kit came from my mom's friend who's leaving the country soon. she's a great friend to my mom and it's very great of her to give us the kit. haha. here are the make-up spoils:

this is an artistic snapshot of our collection of nailpolishes. we have more if you think that shouldn't be called a collection. i just made a nice shot to recreate my skill. (what?)

the weekenders

Last Friday was my other sister's Prom night and my sister came home from Quezon ave. It was fun because she's home and we always wanted to bond during weekends. She had a surprise. It was Tess' (from Roswell) armadillo dance and we laughed. We had hot chocolate the one Carolyne gave from Australia. We sprinkled it with chocolate too. Then we watched other videos from her iBook such as The Weekenders, Veronica Mars, Roswell, other interviews and music videos. I slept early. bummer.

The next day, i watched Roswell early in the morning. Then we do the laundry and other chores. After than we sing songs and recorded it with my phone and uploaded it on the iBook. Then we watched the "our concert" at around 8.00 and then watched The Weekenders and laughed. Then, we recorded ourselves fooling around. At around 1.00, we decided to call for pizza and my parents were asleep already. But, unfortunately, the pizza huts are already closed. Around 3.00, our tummies began to grumble that we decided to call for Chinese food. We ordered miki, siomai, siopao, shangai and hot chocolate. I even took a video of it.

After that, we watched more The Weekenders and sadly i was the first one to crawl to bed. It was Sunday after Saturday and we went to church. We wore something conventional. I wore suspenders, top, pants and flats, my sister wore an army skirt, top and shoes and my other sister wore a Korean-inspired shirt, pants and flats and it was grool. Then we ate at Pancake House after conversation-over-conversation with our relatives. Here's a video of the Pancake House brunch.

After that we went flea market shopping. It was fun dressing up in weird clothes, shoes, hats and skirts. My sister payed for all which made her broke. It cost 1,950 pesos all in all and she's officially broke. Then we went meat marketing and bought ice cream and we had a little "dress-up" with the parents and they were in awe. It was something to use for our friend's debutant party. We were asked to sing too so we practiced with our cousins songs like Birthday Song by Don McLean and One Friend by Dan Seals.

Everything's back to normal when our cousin left. The day ended too.

Australia to Philippines - Complete!

oh my God! oh my God! oh my God! (i sounded like Mila Kunis for a second and a half). I just received Carolyne Bird's parcel from South Australia. I enjoyed it much that i started snapping with my camera phone - unartistically.

Unartistically how? Well, i'm a bit shy when it comes to taking snapshots of things because it would make me look like an ignorant-savvy-doofus. So i took pictures directly from the bag she sent me.

you know how much i like music right? and that it runs in the family? and that it's great that the whole family have the exact interests when it comes to music? if not refer to this, watch and listen carefully.

I videoed our singing. it was too appropriate to post in my blog since recording agents are very eloquent with the Internet now. here's a little background for recording agents and other people who are interested, we don't do rock neither pop. unless my other sister considered the offer then i'm in. oh, and don't try to turn me into a Jojo-malibu barbie because she's a balloon.

this occured yesterday. the song was entitled "Insomnia" by Cynthia Alexander, my sister was doing the guitar stuff, i was taking the shot and i made sure our faces would not be exposed in this "video" not because we're trying to make our identities a mystery from the recording agents but because we don't wanna be humiliated when we we're too much pitchy or not pitchy at all. it's the same difference.

i made this ~~film~~ video today while watching Punky Valentine a.k.a Tino Tonitini do his funniest. I don't know how to upload music that's why i made a collage-picture video thingy out of it. the song's the background music (well, duh).

i was mentally incoherent yesterday aside from watching "My Funny Valentine" and my theory that my family abandoned me. i made a video of myself like some sort of "insta-interview" and it turned out cool.

Out of this "video-o-mine" i expressed my creativity by taking a video of my foot. and because of this video, i'll try to consider the idea of video-blogging. haha. silly me.

yesterday i almost believed myself that my family abandoned me. my house was too quiet and i was watching this Vic Sotto movie with Kris Aquino, "My Funny Valentine" wherein Vic's name is Florante and Kris' name is Laura (how enchanting.. *yawn*). Yeah, i know. Obsolete. but it was a great movie because Vic's the actor.

past 6, i was still alone. so i decided to create a movie entitled, "my idea of boredom" and compared to Vic Sotto's movie, it's much more obsolete. Oh well, no one can create a beautiful video using a camera phone, ('cept me..) haha.

lazy sunday

sunday. we have this routine every Sunday that we have to follow. mass, chinese food, windowshop, meat marketing, and the leftovers such as chores, picture-taking, getting-ready-for-school-tomorrow and some others.

this sunday was weird. but some were plain ordinary. so we went to mass. additional details, i was wearing something that would not be labeled "wash then wear." after the mass, we and the other we-family talked about a friend's debutant day party. (and, drastically, i discovered that i wasn't invited.) then, we ate chinese food (my order wouldn't be referred to as chinese food because it was chicken and rice and coke).

then we went to National bookstore because my sister bought scrapbooking stuff and i froze when i saw a "Fashion Designing" book with a certificate at the back. It was a fashion home-school! Sadly, i still need to find a way on how to scrape 750 pesos for a paperback book.

I bought my conscience. "The Wish List" by Barbara Ann Kipfer for only 30 pesos. that was the least mom could do to unsavor the "Fashion Designing book" moment.

Then, both my mom and dad had facial spa. I know, it's weird. they're parents! and the least we can do is wait. my sister was busy playing games and taking pictures of herself (which by the way, she modeled the picture above) and i was reading my book.

After that, we ended up listening to papa's sorrowful story about his skin being pulled away from his face. Then we went to Monterey meat shop and bought meat (and i warned mom about pork because of the tapeworm! yay me!). me and my sister chose our pint ice cream and chips then off we go.

At lunch we ate. Then, papa watched the concert of Bad Religion. i was busy with my book. my sister was busy with her Valentine's card. my mom was busy with her new back issue magazine.

At around 5.30, me and my sister drained my cellphone battery by taking pictures and recording songs. Here are the finishing products:

Happy Andrada, fashion designer/student from La Salle College International Manila, is passionate about fashion. "It's a medium of self-expression. and it's freedom!" She designs based on the uniqueness of things. Her usual fashion genre are rock n roll, spikes, and other weird stuff. She adds funky touches to her designs.

Yesterday, February 12, i sent her a text message and asked if i can be some kind of a freelance designer. she replied, and said that that would be a great idea. the purpose of sending my works to her is for reference. In that case, if she can't complete a single finishing touch, then she can browse on small parts of my design.

picasso_sellout of pansitan.net inspired me to write poetry. well, since i was young, i love to write poetry but not that profound.

His writings such as (some of his poetry are filipino so others may not understand) may babae sa kusina, paternity, etc. are one of my favorites.

He's an ordinary poet. He writes poems on scratch papers, tissues, old notebooks and such. His poems are posted in his blog picassosellout.pansitan.net. Besides poetry, he also sketches and add as visual for his poem in his blog. He's a teacher of different schools but still manages to participate for poetry readings, developing talent programs, etc.

Thru our conversation at Yahoo! Messenger, i learned that everything can be called as art and everything can be a movie as long as you believe it is.

the Yahoo! search engine introduced me to a school worth envying: SLIMS.
is a Philippine Fashion and art school.
offers great courses such as fashion design, dressmaking and special course in fine arts.
is a 3-minute jeep ride from MRT to LRT stations as described by Young Pinoy Fashion website article on SLIMS.

They have "fashion Friday." what kind of lesson is that? are they trying to kill me?
i want in mother!!! i promise i'll be good for the rest of my life. i will never ask you for another thing for the next 5 months... make that 7 if you can make an exception!!! i beg of you. Just a shred of your humanity means alot!! i am serious.

The word SLIMS came from the name of the socialite, Madame Salvacion Lim. The school specializes education in fashion designing and so on.

retro interior

when i was a kid, i always wanted to be an interior designer, or a fashion designer or a painter. anything related to arts are my passions (photography, pop culture, fashion, music, dance).

i've drawn some of my designs and i promised myself to build it as it is for my parents. but, dear, don't keep promises you can't keep. but i still kept on drawin' and drawin'. i even made a swing chair for living rooms. i have alot of reference magazines and hardbounds too like: modern retro, the sixties, cool kids room, Preview etc. and i learn new designs. i know that someday i'll make the best house for my parents.

i found this retro interior design from deviantart.com. seems a little old-60s design. i don't know where to get those kinds of television. the one that looks like an astronaut's helmet.

i love lava lamps. i think it's too vintage. where can you get lava lamps now? (other than house decorations shop.. haha. *bloat*) my ideas for a stylish, vintage-inspired house are:

1. black and white tiles (or white and pink)

2. swing chairs (memory of my childhood)

3. painting-filled wall

4. 60s-70s movie posters on the wall

5. neon-colored chairs and citrus fruit on the table

6. polka dots (anywhere)

7. a small rectangular hole on the wall where i can read books

9. penguin bathroom (for my sister)

my sister welcomed me to "teenhood" on my 13th birthday. after that, i started changing my lifestyle and behaviour.

yes, ladies and gentlemen. i am still hip. most people here (mostly the hellhole) are ignorants and their wide eyes kept looking at you from head to toe when you wear something out of ordinary. i say, matching.

me and Jessica Thompson from California have an ongoing swap. and surprisingly, i asked her for knee-high socks.

yesterday, february 4, 2007; we went to Meat Plus and i ordered Penne Pomodoro con crema and mango shake (too much details), Jessica told me that she found two knee-high socks and asked me what colour i wanted: fuschia? or yellow with an "ink" lining?

today, february 5, 2007; drastic memory why i'm in an internet cafe, Jessica e-mailed me and i found out that she crawled her way into a website of socks.

is a sock online shop.
sells stuffs other than socks which are (some are) cooler.
they sell stuffs from socks to leg warmers to petticoats to leggings to scarves to arm warmers to pedicures to t-shirts to garters to miscellaneous.
i am green with envy for not having access to online credit card functions.

only 4 years more so i can get my credit card. (and to think mom and dad doesn't have a credit card in the age of 45). story of my life.

California to Philippines - Complete!

Me and Andy Gomez from California, USA arranged a swap last January 30, 2007.
i made sure my parcel was manly enough for him since he gave me a great gift. a camera.

he said it was Olympus. for professionals. like the one from Spiderman.
i agreed, it was a great camera but it doesn't have a USB port. Since i was old enough to write in a blog, i always wanted an SLR so that i can post pictures easily for my blog. but still it was a great pleasure to receive such expensive thing from a very generous person. the camera would be useful for my "corkboard of an artist" on my cabinet.

our shop offers a variety of nerd glasses. i thought that maybe it would be a great swap. alot of people love to act nerdy-smarty people. only act. as most people hate the windowless hellhole or generally called school. it cost 80-120 pesos or 2-3 dollars but i hate selling stuffs thru internet.

but there are some ~~older~~ other styles like a pair of blue nerd glasses or a pair of nerd glasses with red edges. whatever.

i stumbled upon ebay.com looking for books. the site listed top 10 best phones/pdas these days.

i was shocked to see the t-mobile sidekick 2 cellphone pda danger hiptop gsm II. my inner voice was teasing me, "..if only you have a credit card."

the PDA caught my eye so much. i said to myself that i am willing to swap the whole Japan + every shred of my humanity for this. its current bid US $0.01 and it has alot of features such as e-mail, capable of web browsing, camera built-in, mp3 player and color screen.

whoever offers me this is a great person filled with wit and has a great personality and will win the lottery someday. think about this people. we are the architects of our own life. we must give people what they want and need. [that's what gimmeyourstuff.blogspot.com is for!] haha.

i found an article about "Milk and Honey" at pulp (pop culture) site.

is one of the cutest-hottest young labels in Australia.

my sister introduced to me, Irina Lazareanu.
is a Canadian supermodel.
is formerly the drummer of the UK band Babyshambles.
was discovered by Kate Moss.

according to answers.com, Irina transcends fashion and music, specifically rock n roll, which contributed to the rise of her modelling career. she is known for her distinctive vintage-inspired style. her semblance developed the status of "it-girl". she composed a song for the band "Babyshambles" where she was also the band's former drummer. The song was entitled, "La Belle et la Bête" (which, i agree, is a good song for one supermodel). Irina also took ballet.

Irina was born on the 8th of June 1982 and had modeled for top designers such as Anna Sui, Balenciaga, Chanel, Versace, et al.

I found this blog, gimme your stuff. It's a great idea to arrange a "cultural swap" with someone from another country. It's a full-blown advantage. Firstly, you'll meet other people from other country with the same interests as you have. Secondly, you'll receive some treasured stuffs from their side of the world and lastly, as you send parcels to them, you excite them. fill them with joy!

I am the pulchritudinous maleena or karen. i have the blood of both Japanese and Filipino. I love fashion. I sort of love to match peculiar things up. I took art and piano class too. and photography and music are my passions.
